2 Corinthians 2:5-11 English Standard Version (ESV)
Forgive the Sinner
5 Now if anyone has caused pain, he has caused it not to me, but in some measure—not to put it too severely—to all of you. 6 For such a one, this punishment by the majority is enough, 7 so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. 8 So I beg you to reaffirm your love for him. 9 For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything. 10 Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ, 11 so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.

Very good message…I loved the end where you listed a number of things that we have in Christ, including that We have been forgiven. Interesting that the sermon at my church this past Sunday was on the part of the Lords Prayer…forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. One of the themes in that sermon as in yours was that we have been forgiven. God definitely wants me to ponder that theme.

This was a very good sermon. Always feel fed by your sermons! I have to admit forgiving myself is one of my biggest problems as I am sure it is with others.
Sometimes I think we confuse the feeling of guilt with self forgiveness.Another thing that was hard for me for a long time. Is the fact of knowing that me father sexually abused me for many years and caused so much hurt physically and mentally for and still he could be forgiven. Did I really want him forgiven so I might face him in heaven?? Tough one! But that time and place will be totally in God’s hands and I trust Him with all my heart.

Lois, Thank you for sharing your testimony! You are absolutely right – everything is in God’s hands. I am convinced that your testimony will comfort others and let them know that they are not alone. In the meantime, I will be in prayer that we are all able to forgive ourselves as well as those around us. Let us move forward in Agape Love!
God Bless you Lois – and anyone else that reads and is comforted by your testimony.
